For skin that feels tight after cleansing and looks a little flat by the afternoon, whatever your skin type.

Dehydrated skin is short on water, not oil, so even oily skin can feel it. This edit layers hydrating cleansers, mists, serums with hyaluronic acid, moisturisers and oils from Janesce, Emma Lewisham, The Facialist, GULP and Josh Rosebrook, with a few supplements alongside.

Apply serums to damp skin, layer from thinnest to thickest, and finish with a moisturiser to seal it in. Drink water and turn the shower down a few degrees. Not sure if your skin is dry or dehydrated? Book a facial and we'll tell you.

From our facialists

Dehydration is a lack of water, not oil, so any skin type can have it, oily skin included. It usually shows up as tightness, fine lines that come and go, and makeup that sits on top of the skin.

Swap a foaming cleanser for a cream or gel, layer a hydrating serum under your moisturiser, and use a mist through the day if your office is air-conditioned. A Ritual Facial is a good reset when your skin feels tight all the time.
