Meet The Team: Lola
"My approach to beauty is always the intention to help people see beauty in their own current skin, as cliche as that may sound. In a world and industry surrounded by ‘anti-ageing’ and ‘perfect skin,’ I think it's important to see beautiful parts of yourself. Beauty is confidence and kindness. And this is my exact approach to being a beauty therapist; really listening and taking on any information someone is sharing with me, and working with that through a kind, yet intentional touch."
Meet facialist, massage therapist, and skin expert, Lola.
What lead you to beauty therapy?
I was drawn to beauty therapy mainly by the fact that it would give me the opportunity to help people, whether that be through education of skincare, taking them to a complete state of relaxation, or being an ear to listen to and chat to!
What is your go-to product or favoured ingredient?
Vitamin A’s have been a saviour through hormonal cystic acne breakouts, as it really does lessen the severity of the cysts, and longevity of them hanging around.
What product do you most recommend to our clients and why?
I go through days of obsessing over one product, or line of products as I’m reintroduced to the amazing results they give during facials, but, the Josh Rosebrook Daily Acid Toner is one that I feel just works for pretty much everyone, every skin type, and pretty much every skin concern.
Outside if work, what do you love doing?
Anywhere with my dog Gavin, he pretty much comes everywhere with me, or is the reason I’m most likely home on a Saturday night! Beach/trail walks, cafes, breweries, cocktail happy hours are things I love to do, and he’s there with his own little snack and bowl of water.
What is your favourite treatment to give/get?
I don’t have one particular favourite treatment to give perse, but if I can tell that a client is just so extra deserving/in need of treatment, I feel so grateful that I can be the one to take some weight off of their shoulders (quite literally too!) and feel quite warm. I feed off that, as it truly is what drives me. As for me, I am just so happy to receive anything as long as my pressure points are touched, and a scalp massage is given!
In a profession which nurtures and cares for others, what do you do in self care, or how do you make time for yourself?
I try to force myself to do the same levels of self-care that I enforce others to take for themselves. Skincare is obviously a passion so I love to try new products and routines, but self-care for me is also taking time to relax, and switch my brain off.
We are creatures of habit, what’s your thing, everyday, on repeat?
What are your fail-safe products? The ones she reaches for time and time again.
who is elijah Nomad Fragrance - sweet yet grounded with rose and amberwood. An absolute fave, and the final layer in my beauty ritual.
